Thanks for all the great replys guys. I just grew up with the knack of working on these types of sets. I have a great respect for sets like this. My folks first color set was in 1963 and it was a Curtis Mathis 21" roundie. Don't have pics of it but I found brocheres of it on Ebay. I'll post one later. I never had any real formal training in the electronics field but I learned by reading books, working on sets like these and I hung around every shop in my town and learned from the best techs ever. I think it was 9 shops in my area. Every one had a story and always great info. They all took me under the wing and taught me something. Almost all are gone now but never forgotten by me.
