Sounds like you have a fun project waiting in the wings.
If you have no experience with fixing vintage electronics I recommend starting with a tube radio first, and then a cheap 60's monochrome set in order to build skills and confidence to do that CTC-9 right.
Lots of early color nuts here including me(I was working on a CTC-4 earlier this year before I got too busy with college and preparing for a move).
