I used pet stain remover/deorderizer, which just about got it. The problem now is the rust. The front (vertical) chassis is like new down to the bottom few inches, then it and everything else is really coroded. I guess I am looking at a strip, sandblast, and tin plate job to do it right. It is good I have a friend in the platin' biz!
I am hoping you are right about the crt. If for no other reason than I could use it in one of the other two projectors I have that use the same CRT, which are in WAY better shape. Of course it would be nice to get all three running, but we will see.
