The weak spot in all early RCA's was that lousy metal CRT.

I avoid any sets with metal cone CRTs. When I bought my 1952 RCA Kendall console which is still awaiting restoration, I made very sure that the 17" tube was a glass one. If I ever get to restoring it that set will become a daily driver.
