I would transport it upright in the back seat with the seat belt strategically placed across it. If you were really concerned, pile some pillows between the set and the back of the front seat. From what I've seen there really isn't anything that can't take a ride in a car. You just don't want it to fall face forward in the event of a serious panic stop.
