I'm just worried about how it comes apart and how hard is it to get to the caps. The guy who sold it to me said all the tubes light up so he must of powered it sometime or another.

It probably is a 17" inch model, using a 17HP4, or simular.
Dissassemble it by removing the knobs and removing the screws that hold the cabinet to the plywood base. It's a little tricky jockeying the cabinet to clear the tuner shaft. The speaker might have to be removed for clearance.
The CRT stays with the chassis. It'll have to be removed to replace the caps.
