Hah. By that account the socket is OK. The only thing left is the tube itself. I take it you don't have a tube tester? If not, try this..
Connect everything back to the socket except pin 5. Put the tube in the socket. Take a 10K resistor (or some value in that ballpark) and clip one end to pin 5 and the other end to the 275V source.
Consider that resistor sacrificial, because if the tube shorts, it will quickly fry the resistor in lieu of frying the resistors R140 and R141 which got smoked originally.
