Ken, I would like to go to ETF this year, but I have a lot going on right now. Are you going to ETF? I may fly in there then fly/drive to VA to pick up stuff. I have TVs in VA and one which I need to pick up in Pittsburg. I also may be picking some other TVs up in Mass. I've been in a hotel here in CA waiting for the condo sale to close Apr 22nd.
There's a 3 story creative space called the Torpedo factory in Alexandrea Va on the pier with separate studios owned by individual artists
http://www.torpedofactory.org/open_artist_studios.htm . Some of the studios have ocean views. All the booths are zoned retail. There is a gift shop and museum on the main floor. The entire first floor can be rented after hours for partys etc. If your party wants to buy art from the booths after hours then that can be arranged. I belong to two robot meetups (
www.meetup.com) where one of the robot groups
http://www.nova-labs.org/blog has creative space in Reston VA for approximately $50 month membership which includes conference room for classes etc, kitchen with a refrigerator any microwave, a bathroom, a room with a makerbot for building plastic models, a CNC 3d printer/cutter for metal, plastic, wood and storage space for individual robots (humanoid, helicopter etc). I think large cities such as LA, Wash DC, Boston, San Francisco, New York etc could support shared space by radio and TV collectors either with other members such as artists, musicians, and robot builders or independently. I did a quick check on robot groups here and I found one but unfortunately it was aimed at students 8-12 years old. They were persueing donation of funds for permanent space. I would like storage for 80 tvs and about 20 radios and a display area for about 8-10 TVS plus small desk area for a computer. It would be nice also to have a small theater with 10-12 seats and LCD TV which could dual purpose as conference room, classroom, or build teardown area. I'm currently renting both a 10X15 and a 10X20 storage unit where everything is packed to the ceiling. I really don't want to just move everything from one storage space in VA to another storage space in CA.
