A thought from Daves brain.
The tube has been mounted in the cabinet all this time and is still good. Would it be prudent to leave it alone and not handle it, lay it on its side, etc, or put and new or different stress on the infamous metal to glass joint that seems to be the achilles tendon of the 15gp CRT. Seems like short lived and failures seem to happen after installs, storage, swaps, etc.
This tubes condition seems truly remarkable for its age. Just sayin.
