Marconi 158

Here's a radio I was tasked with fixing recently, something which I more or less finished tonight after figuring out why it would receive nothing.

This is a Marconi 158 and to be honest I don't know much about it so pictures might be more valuable here.

This is was one of the best radios I've seen in terms of fixing as it looks to be cared for very well in it's life (the cabinet is very good) and no one had touched it inside up until this point.

SW reception is really good and AM is acceptable. Not the best I own by far, but it performs well.

A full recap later and a few other adjustments and it's happy once again

^ Here you can see the front of it. It needs a new speaker grill cloth, but I think I might be able to salvage the one there as it appears more stretched then anything. I'll work on it tomorrow.

There's a small metal bezel missing around the push buttons, but I don't think it's likely I'll find one. I might try and figure something out so it looks a bit better in the future.

^ The back, not a whole lot to see. Those of you keen will see some replacement wires. Those were more to get it running then anything. I've got some proper replacement wire coming in the mail for this and other radios.

^ A closer look. Now you can really see that one replacement wire. The old one was really bad and this is more then okay for now.

^ The old 6G5 in it was dead, but I found a somewhat working one among my extra tubes. It's weak, but I'm not to worried about it honestly. I can't really justify the cost to buy a better one right now with so many projects on the go.

Any of you folks know anything about this set?
