Fletwood 600 and 800 tuners...

First, thanks very much for posting the 600 information which I did not realize was available in Rider.

I'm familiar with both these tuners and they are very good and pass color well.

The 600 is easier to deal with in terms of using it with a TV monitor that is not a Conrac/Fleetwood. It is self contained and self powered and simply feeds video and audio to the monitor. It does have a high impedance video output and it will not drive a 75 ohm terminated video input. You can get around this by leaving the terminator switch in the off position or if there is no switch just cut loose one end of the 75 ohm resistor across the monitor input.
One more note on the 600 which is about the distinction between it and the 800...
The 600 has a detector based RF and IF AGC which works well and is the reason for my comment about it being 'self contained'.

The 800 tuner has keyed AGC and gets the keying pulses from the Fleetwood monitor horizontal section via a width coil that has a secondary winding which
is connected through the 8 pin octal cable to the tuner.
This may be a pain to deal with if you are using the tuner 'stand alone' as it won't function well without the H Keying pulses from a TV monitor.
I found a width coil with a secondary on ePay and was able to replace the original in the monitor and all worked well.
It gets difficult if you want to use the tuner 'stand alone' because you will have to either build an H pulse source to drive the tuner AGC or maybe just
hide a small TV chassis off in a dark corner out of sight.
Also if you want to drive a 75 ohm video line with either of the tuners I have attached
information about a two transistor video amp that runs on +5 volts. Subs for the two transistors are very old friends, the 2N3904 and 2N3906.

Hope some of this is helpful in getting pictures with your Fleetwood.
