As for the broken tube socket on the CRT, if it were mine, I'd just use some hot melt glue or such to stabilize the socket (maybe wrap some good quality tape around it), and exercise a bit more care when plugging in the mate. VS trying to remove that old socket and risking breaking a wire lead off at the glass seal.
