There have been a number of 80s/early 90s sets that I gave away or parted out; many I feel I will live long enough to regret getting rid of. Both my father and grandfather bought new 19" sets in 1991 (a GE and a Sylvania), both USA made, both worked fine when I gave them away. I put my the Colortrak console my uncle bought new in about '84 out on the curb. Just can't save 'em all.
