Kitchen would be my choice for a 1950's room complete with a 14" RCA metal portable 14S7074/KCS102 on the counter;

1. White plain painted cabinets, red or gray formica counter top with boomerang patterns, linoleum pattern flooring or black-white checkered vinyl asbestos tile that SHINES.
2. A fluorescent light with a center glass thingy and three concentric circline T9 "bulbs" 22 watt, 32 watt and 40 watt.
3. A Westinghouse or GE 40" wide range with the "sunken soup pot" at the rear left burner position and a Westinghouse roasting pan on stand.
4. A one-door Kelvinator or Philco double-handle refrigerator with a Zenith AM-FM A825 in white bakelite on top. A teapot or tomato wall clock above it.
5. A metal cabinet double sink unit, with soapdish on the two-handle faucet. Sears and Monkey-Ward sold some nice ones. An Arvin toaster and Sears coffee percolator.
6. A black Western Electric (Bell) wall telephone with 15 foot cord.
7. A gray ice-pattern formica table and aluminum skirting. Matching red vinyl chairs and all with tube steel frame/legs. Mutli-colored melamine (Boonton) plates and dishes.

All this would be just fine with me, I could even do without the microwave.
But I must have Ground-fault receptacles.
