Portables and table models have the disadvantage of being easy to throw out as soon as they die. Consoles tend to linger due to lazyness/owners being out of shape, but only can stay so long before someone raises a stink. Though portables if stored working or dead can stay buried until they become antiques if luck is with them.
I own a 19" CCII, a 13" CCII or early systemIII, and passed on a 13" CCII in Alabama about 4 years ago. They are out there just not as common as before. Also with the DTV transition perfectly good sets are hitting the curb daily from either ignorance, the desire not to spend money on something old, or the vain snobbery of refusing to have anything electronic over 5 years old.
