I may be using the wrong terminology for the switch. I've seen them called "switch covers" on the internet, and I've befriended a local fellow who had a radio/tv repair shop back in the 60's and 70's (he was partners with my wife's uncle who's in his 80's and doesn't remember much from back then) who just called it "the cover".

It is the whole switch assembly I'm talking about, but it seems to just snap/crimp onto the back of the pots in front that do the volume control and hold control. Thanks for looking that up. There aren't many parts to "eyeball" out in my neck of the desert, so I have to buy from the net looking at pics and then hope it's right when it gets here.
