I think you are speaking about the E-51 and E-53 sets. Hot chassis and an IHVT that did NOT hold up real well, as you said. I think the E-48 was a deluxe E-46 with true digital PLL tuning and NO presets needed. Someone here got one not too long ago i think on CL and showed it off.
