Listen that mirror in the lid olympic i helped unload and get it into the guy's house that won it , it was so heave we had to take the tv section out , that was easier said then done , you couldn't just unbolt the chassis , you had to unscrew all kinds of wood parts and more to get it out , it is bolted to a piece of wood that the speaker is attatched to and remove it and even then try getting it to come out , it did come out and we were able to carry it a lot easier , he also bought that fm only zenith so i got to see it , what a bad marketing idea , buy two of the same radio to hear stereo.
The motorola has a 16GP4 not a 19AP4 , would have been nice to be a 19 but if it was and the crt was bad i would be stuck , i took the back off and saw it was a ge 16GP4 and thought that might be a good sign , stuck it on the tester , after 5 minutes it really woke up and is a really good crt , it is also a transformer set so should be a good performer because it reminds me of the 17" chassis used by motorola and they are pretty good , yes the rounded corners are nice , not only does it have a radio look but if accidently bumped into it wont hurt lol.
there were other sets , a not so great predicta holiday with some cracks in the mask but not in bad areas and no knobs for 60 , there was a crosley 10" bakelite , a ct-4 or ctc-5 that sold and that ctc-9 that i really should have did what i could to get , a 7" bakelite philco , a 7" emerson , 8" motorola bakelite , rca 10" 8-t - something with am fm radio , one of those philco bakelite 12WP4 sets , a 21" tble top zenith with space command that was tempting just because of the space command , a couple others that wont come to mind , an overpriced 57-58 era 14 inch rca metal portable , a philco 12" rounded top tv , yes there were sets , this was opposite of last year , may 2013 tons of tv sets but sept 2013 not much , may 2014 not many sets but sept 2014 a good amount.
i guess i will do what i can to get there on friday in may 2015 for the auction.
