the bottom of the base/driver is rounded, so the speaker rocks back and forth when it's on a flat surface (Hence my appellation, "Weeble," as in, "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.") Did this speaker maybe have a larger base that the driver fit into?
I'm guessing that the original driver/base has been replaced with a driver from a different horn that was perhaps front mounted, which explains the makeshift "adaptor" and the non-flat bottom.
