I have never seen a wire wound drift in value,
only opened. Sometimes the shell falls apart &
IMHO should be changed even if OK. Finding
them should be no problem.
Keep in mind many sets use a "fusable " resistor in
the power supply usually 5.6 ohms 5 watt & you need to
use the right thing there.
