I TRY to trade for everything in my collection and keep money out of the equation, dealing only with fellow collectors. If I paid something for a set and trade it, I usually get equal value in trade. If I get lucky acquiring a good CRT I don't need, its theirs for my cost of getting it, not some payday!

Recently, I paid $150 each for Zenith 21" roundie color sets from non-collectors. I really wanted them but I can't see letting them go again for that amount, more so if I add value by recapping, fixing their issues and then setting them up properly.

On the other hand, when I repair something, its nearly always for a non-collector. To justify and finance this hobby, I HAVE to charge for those repairs and then stand behind them. if you undercharge for something to a non-collector, they will think that is all its worth.
