The first time I saw over-the-air color TV was at my uncle's house in late fall 1954.
But the first time I saw color TV was not over the air ... it was on
a monitor at the TV station. I was on-camera in the studio audience
when WBAP made a big deal of switching from B&W to color for
their afternoon kiddie's shows. There was a big cheer when the picture
of us turned from B&W to color. One friend of mine has already seen color
TV at the station because he was the weatherman's son.
As I have said before, this caused me to ask Santa for a CT-100 for Christmas,
which I finally got last summer.
