Hope he's familar with the degaussing procedure.
1. Have the TV in the location and position it's to be used in, and have it warmed up and running.
2. Have the degauss coil at least 6' away from the set, then turn it on.
3. Move it in and do the degaussing, then move it at least 6' away before turning it off.
If it's turned off while close in, it will gauss the set instead of degauss it.
