Got a call from an old friend in the radio circles yesterday. He was at a barn sale and sent me a pic of a TV, asked me if I was interested. Hellz yeah!
Got in my car after work and made the two hour drive, which was well worth it.
Here's what I ended up with. Along with the Garod, got some NOS Sprague black beauty caps (I'll sell those to guitar amp guys....heh), orange drops, magnifier, and a Jackson TVG-2 Signal Generator, just for grins. Also got a whole case of NOS GE tubes, a big box of NOS 20s and 30s tubes, and another box filled with some huge funky whofandangler tubes. Hytrons, some with ceramic bases, a few that have to be about 10" tall
This hole is far from fished out. He had several Channel Master UHF roof antennas new in box, plus a ton of radios, old test equipment, etc. He's going to dig some more and call me in a week to stop out again
. The only other TV there was about a '53 Philco split chassis tabletop, which I passed on.
