I found a schematic supposedly identical for the MXA-1, 2, 3, and 4. The only suspicious part to my eye is C2, 2 ufd electrolytic, output coupling for the input amplifier. If this went low in value, it could still pass the mpx carrier, but cut the lows in the sum channel.
