I always thought they kinda blew it with Thing , here was supposed to be this possessed severed hand in a box , and the hand looked WAY too neat & clean !
It should have looked like Frankenstein's hand , all moldy and nasty with nail rot and a few chunks missing , THAT would have been creepy
