There was an even bigger screen available for a few years: the Dumont Royal Soverign (and a couple of off brand sets that used it's CRT)...

I think the 27" sets lingered into the mid-late 60s and occupied that 1 step below a decent color console to the "I want to spend color set money, but I think color sets require too much maintenance so give me the best monochrome set you got bub" market.
