A few weeks ago I watched a YouTube video explaining how the history channel here in the US is not really about history anymore, and about how they have made a lot of big mistakes before.
There are plenty of dumdums that don't know seemingly anything about the history of electronics in all eras. I recently watched the 1954 film The Glenn Miller Story that depicts Miller's life up until his death in 1944. There is a scene in that film with spinning records on a player and news papers talking about record sales...the arm of the player is clearly a Zenith Cobramatic, and those came out after WWII (1949 IIRC)...so even in 1954 people were too dumb to know the difference between a 5 year old and a 10 year old Record changer.
