If increasing the filament voltage didnt help it almost proves it is NOT
a weak CRT.
BTW For basket cases on older solid state sets with an open core FBT you
could add a winding to the filament by wrapping it around the core once.
If you do it use a scope to be sure not to increase the P-P more than abt
25%. We did this to get a set picked up & at least get the estimate
charge. Often they would get a year or two out of it & delay what was once
an expensive replacement.
