Quick and dirty for pinpointing any dead stage from audio on up past the video IF range. Then there was the 'cattle prod' - a handheld Oudin coil zapper for cleaning rebuilt CRTs before installation.
Our most infrequently used stuff was the B&K Analyst, Sweep genny and scope.
