I ran my Pioneer VP-1000 naked while running, a 12' platter running at 1800 RPM deserves some respect but it can be done.
I ended up doing a complete re-cap of the VP-1000 using the better kits from Amazon. It plays well but it's more of a shelf queen as I use a Philips CDV-488 as my main player, it too needs a complete re-cap but I've struck out on the service manual.
