I have had that happen to me as well unfortunately, and on some really cool stuff as well which is the crappy part.
I once tried to get an old 1930s Zenith Radio and the person never replied and about one or two days after I had messaged the person the radio said "sold" on it but the person never messaged me to ask me if I was still interested or where I wanted to meet them (the radio was available locally.)
