What I think I’ll do is wait for the 250K pot that’s coming tomorrow. I took a 6SN7 that has shorts and broke it up and cleaned out the base and pins. I stripped out 2 wires long enough that I could solder them in pins 2 and 5. When the pot comes, I’ll attach it to the wires and mount it on or in, space permitting, the socket. I’ll then have a dedicated tool to align RCA sets with this circuitry.
