Thanks, this is what I thought. I wonder why JVC did not join Panasonic to co-market M-system, and it also joined MII a couple of years after MII launch. JVC and Panasonic usually developed things together, at one point one of them was owned by another. JVC did not have anything better anyway, it even offered Professional SVHS for a while, but I don't see why would one prefer SVHS to Umatic SP. Panasonic tried several times to unseat Sony from the throne with M, then MII, then D3, and finally it succeeded with DVCPRO if not to become the king of the hill then to co-seat with Sony. This is before RED launched its cinema camera.

Have you digitized them? This is a treasure today. There are several MTV collections around, but most of them are in bad standard VHS quality at best, captured without a TBC into 30p. Your collection can make a difference
