I would quite while you're ahead. Every time you try to clean it with more chemicals, you add to the smell.
Best solution is to just let it bake until the smell fades. The heat is what's causing it to off-gas, so eventually it will run out of fuel.
If it's really that horrible, turn it on and stick it in the garage overnight or out back if the weather's okay.
