Hey all...been a bit.
A collector with recently diagnosed health problems was selling some of his stuff for a song. He threw in this TV for free as he was simply trying to free up space. He had an early color RCA but it would have been a restoration/resurrection from hell. I turned it down.
This is an unusual TV. I'll post some pics from my unit but these images are from radiomuseum.
I don't know if this TV is rare. I could find very little information on it. It has a very unusual continuous tuner. It's not the same Mallory InducTuner tuner found in the Dumonts. It looks like it's an inhouse brand and it has brass reduction gears for the fine tuning and not the phenolic and easily stripped gears on the Dumont and its clones. It's about half the length of the Mallory tuner. CRT is a 12LP4. I've replaced the 3 canned caps and a few waxies in the vertical but I only get about 3" of vertical deflection centered in the middle of the screen. About 3-4 caps left to replace in the vertical section so I'll post progress and some pictures of the unit I'm working on.
Cheers to all and as usual, all the best and thank you for your kind input through these past few years.
