I purchased the Pete Deksnis modified version of the original RCA design, it works well and is easy to install (on the CT-100) on other TVs, i don't know.

A few years ago I built an improved version for a restoration customer. We wanted to still be able to use the tuner in a switchable capacity. Running the detector video through coax to a switch degraded it so I put a mini double throw relay on the socket extender so the tuner signal path lead dress would be virtually unaltered when not in composite video input mode, I added an audio injection circuit too and copied the preamp circuit from an RCA 45RPM record player for the audio line input... It worked great and I need to build a couple more for me.
