Conversion to FM did not work for unknown reasons. The slope detection does seem to work nicely.
Tonight I was playing around with it and decided to see what would happen if I raised the line voltage a bit.
I was using 115. That was generating 6.3 volts on the filaments. I upped to voltage to 6.75 on the filaments. There was a large difference!
The image is now actually bright enough for normal use. But more interestingly .... the strange "dead spot" in the luminence curve is
much smaller, almost gone! The picture is not as good as my National 7JP4 set, which is very bright on its like-new CRT, but its
almost as good as all my other 7JP4 sets and better than the 5BP4 ones.
