Replace all of the wax paper caps. See my page

http://www.antiqueradio.org/recap.htm though I would not try to remove all of the old caps' leads from terminals, tube sockets or switches (they are rather fragile and easily broken). Just clip off the old lead at the terminal and solder the new on onto the terminal. Do one cap at a time (remove a cap and immediately install its replacement) so you don't forget where it connects to.
