Which I tried just the other night, to no avail. Figures.
But here's a question: what are the chances that a new cap will go bad within a few months? Pretty slim, I would suppose.
I ask because oldtvman suggested it might be the 160@250 cap, which is one I replaced several months ago. It's also one I didn't bother checking the other night. Guess it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. If one of the solder joints went bad on this cap (I've moved it around a little to get to other things under there), would that cause the short-wavy-picture problem? I'm a little irritated with this because it's one of those cases where "it worked just fine yesterday."
