These VT-71s really have a nice picture!!!! first B/W 40s I restored. That picture had sharpness, brightness and detail rivaling modern sets I didn't see in 40s admiral 7" I restored later. I then regretted selling my vt 71 even tho an ac/dc set with throw back simple wafer contact tuner. These are great restored!!! A bottom cover would be definetely worth doing on this set.
Actually, I THINK THESE ARE BETTER TO COLLECT THAN TRANSFORMER SETS ANYWAYS, NO POWER TRANSFORMER TO GO BAD. ----
