I lay the set face down and prop it on the front with some towels. You have to remove the chassis also. I mark the things on the neck before removing them. then you can place then exactly where they were. Then you can remove the 4 bolts that hold the crt shield. Wear a face shield for protection during this process. It will protect your face and neck if an implosion happens. REMEMBER there is 2.5 tons of negative pressure in the CRT. Am I right on this number? You can then bend over to remove the CRT. Be cafeful that it does not contact anything on the way out. One small -sharp blow could implode this thing. I also have elbow length leather gloves to compliment the face shield.
Do not do it if you do not need to.
