Most of the 70's and earlier video stuff used these type of connectors...my RCA Lyceum TV monitor/receivers use them. They are the same type of connector you use on a CB radio for the antenna. The video input will work fine with VCR.
When I was in High school there was an RCA CTC-68 Lyceum TV in the library with noisy tuner and they wouldn't let me open it up to spray the tuner so I set it up with the UHF-to-RCA connectors on the video input so it could work with a VCR.
