I remember both Mom and Grandma initially would not let me touch the TV when I was a kid (early 80's). I had to ask to have it turned on and change the channels! Eventually they both lightened up about it. Grandparents had a ctc-31 till about 1997 and I would always sneakily adjust it for a better picture.
Such a change to today where kids have TV's in their rooms, etc.
