Some boxes say they have "Quality Protection by Macrovision" on them, but most don't. I'd be very surprised if any commercially produced DVD didn't have protection. This is why DVD Shrink and ImgTool Burn are so popular. The lone exceptions seem to be some public service DVDs and some porn.
