TV NUt... No, not quite the verticle line I have. However, i've noticed that the lines have moved their way closer to the edge of the screen... almost to the point to where they can't be seen. This, in a way, is a good thing... however I have no idea what occurred to make them move.
JP... yes I discharge the same way, and I too am usually paranoid and keep a clip on the leads. Before returning the anode lead to the tube again, I will usually discharge once again from the anode button to the coating... and many times get a healthy arc... so I'm glad I do that. I've already been zapped a time or two... it ain't a good feeling! However, on this set, I used to get a good discharge after turning the set off. Now, I get nothing and wonder if that's the sign of something leaking by. I've made sure that the dust is all cleaned off the bell, so I know it's not getting out that way.
Oh well... the set has played for several hours today with no problems, and the verticle lines have moved to the left some. The lines really aren't a big problem while viewing... it's just that I know they shouldn't be there and that's why they annoy me.
