Atwater update
First let me say thanks for the replys to my question.
I revisited the antique sho. I check out the radio again. Here's what I discovered.
There are two pieces to this set. The first is a model 20 Atwater receiver.
I'm not sure how this unit is designed. inside the case is empty. I think the speaker was external ad mounted on top. There is the Atwater brass shield mounted to the case.
The second unit is a long retangular wooden box. I seached for serial or model information. Both were missing. On the outside case were two large
dials. The dials look like tortise shell. There is a series of small round metal parts arrangen in a arch. Below is a switch with a meatl indicator. It appears that you turn the switch to one of these metal pieces in the.
Inside and behind the two large dials are springs. when you adjust the dials
a small wire about the diameter of a paper clip revolves around these springs.
There seems two be a place where two tubes would've conected.
Oh, the case has a lid that opens. there are two swing hooks on each end of the vase that locks the lid.
If I'm confusing you I apologize.
Your thoughs??
