You might be able to remove the B&W CRT burn in by running the CRT with a full white raster for about 100 hours or so. Brand new phosper will dim about 10% in the first 100 hours or so if use, and then stay about level for the next several thousand hours. The idea here is to get the unused phosper (that which was outside the shrunken picture area) past the 100 hour use to get it about the same light emitting level as the burnt in area.
