Sylvania Halolight

This version of the Halolight is my favorite. I have restored 4 of them - including the one that I got from AK member Jordan Pier. Two of them are 21 inch and 2 are 23 inch. These were called Sylouette because of deep they were. All have similar halolights that come out from the cabinet - kind of 3D. Other than screen size, the cabinets are very similar - one exception being that the controls could be behind a smaller door on top or the entire top of the tv slides back to reveal the controls. The ad below shows the earliest Sylouette.

About 15 years ago, a book called "Mid Century Modern" showed one of these Halolights - it is very popular to 50's memorabilia collectors because of the odd cabinet.

Jordan - the Halo on the set that I got from you does work. If these have been sitting for long periods or if they are cold, it takes a while for the halo to kick in. Until it warms up, it flickers like a flourescent light.
