halolight tube
A good neon sign shop can replace the electrodes, evacuate and regas a halolight tube. It has been a neon tube in all of the Sylvania halolight sets I've encountered. There was a shop here in Syracuse that was able to do this for me back in the 1970's. Cost was around 20 dollars, so it would probably be more now. Unfortunately , they went out of business some time ago.
If you're so inclined to pursue this avenue, be EXTREMELY carefull with the tube as it isn't very robust. And it will cost more to do.
I've wondered if it were possible for the same type of shop to rebuild a Victoreen high voltage regulator tube.
Thoughts?
